Top Five Reasons to get CompTIA Certified:

  1. Learn Skills to Get a New Job - CompTIA certifications assure employers of a candidate's basic technology skills and prove you know how to get the job done.
  2. Preserve Your Job & Salary - As the economic landscape continues to evolve, certifications can lock you into tiered salary levels and prove expertise that stands above the rest.
  3. Ready to Change Jobs? CompTIA certifications help candidates qualify for new job opportunities, or advance your career in technology.
  4. Stand Out in the Resume Pile - Validated CompTIA certifications on your resume help you stand out among other applicants, giving you a greater opportunity for an interview.
  5. IT is Everywhere! IT skills are needed in most companies and there are simply not enough trained IT professionals to fill these jobs.

CompTIA recently launched a major expansion of its credentialing program with the introduction of CompTIA Stackable Certifications, which are earned by achieving a combination of related CompTIA certifications along the CompTIA infrastructure or cybersecurity pathways. Stackable certifications recognize deep expertise and strong commitment to continuous professional development and growth. Students do not need to do anything additional to earn these certifications. If a student has earned the relevant individual certifications, he will automatically receive the appropriate stackable certification.

CompTIA Stackable Certifications follow the two CompTIA Career Pathways:

  • CompTIA Infrastructure Career Pathway
  • CompTIA Cybersecurity Career Pathway

CompTIA Infrastructure Career Pathway

CompTIA’s Infrastructure Career Pathway validates the skillsets needed across IT operations, deepening mastery of skills and broadening the number of IT infrastructure roles in which one can contribute.

Specialist (early-career IT professionals with 0–2 years of experience)

  • A+ and Network+ = CompTIA IT Operations Specialist (CIOS)
  • A+ and Linux+ = CompTIA Systems Support Specialist (CSSS)

Professional (mid-level IT professionals with 2–5 years of experience)

  • Network+ and Cloud+ = CompTIA Cloud Admin Professional (CCAP)
  • Network+ and Server+ = CompTIA Network Infrastructure Professional (CNIP)
  • Network+ and Linux+ = CompTIA Linux Network Professional (CLNP)

CompTIA Cybersecurity Career Pathway

The CompTIA Cybersecurity Career Pathway helps technical specialists achieve cybersecurity mastery, from beginning to end.

Specialist (early-career IT professionals with 0–2 years of experience)

  • A+ and Network+ and Security+ = CompTIA Secure Infrastructure Specialist (CSIS)

Professional (mid-level IT professionals with 2–5 years of experience)

  • Security+ and Cloud+ = CompTIA Secure Cloud Professional (CSCP)
  • Security+ and CySA+ = CompTIA Security Analytics Professional (CSAP)

Expert (established IT professionals with more than 5 years of experience)

  • Security+ and CySA+ and CASP = CompTIA Security Analytics Expert (CSAE)

More stackable certifications are expected.

Stackable certifications require active CE certifications. Good-for-life certification holders may earn these stackable certifications by re-certifying and validating that their skills are up to date
